Winchester, MA, January 23, 2020 — The Boston Imperials, in just their second season, have been selected by the prestigious midget hockey league known as the BEAST, as a franchise member beginning in the 2020 Fall Season. The Imperials U14, U15, U16 and U18 Tier 1 National Bound teams will participate either the National and Showcase Divisions. The Boston Imperials participated as guests last year in their inaugural season. Since their founding in 2019, they have added significant resources to the hockey staff, hiring long-time junior hockey veteran and Pittsburgh Penguins scout Frank Golden as General Manager, Rivers School Head Coach Shawn McEachern at U16 National Bound Tier 1 Coach, along with long-time Boston Bruins scout Scott Fitzgerald, who has taken an ownership interest.
“We were looking for a franchise member north of Boston that had a strong hockey staff and business structure to add to our league and the Boston Imperials met those strict guidelines in which to be awarded a franchise. They have a very strong staff, and were a unanimous vote by the founding members. We are thrilled to have them in our league,” noted Brandon Johnson, President of the CT Chiefs.
“We are excited to be joining the League as a franchise member and I want to thank the BEAST’s charter members for giving us this opportunity. We are excited to put some very competitive teams on the ice next fall.” said Dennis Franczak, Boston Imperials founder and club President.
